GOEIC aims to protect Egyptian consumers, the environment and the country’s reputation by employing the latest techniques and procedures to inspect, test and certify products exported to the country.
Egypt’s General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) requires that all manufacturers, trademark owners and distributors register their regulated products in order to export to Egypt.
The Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade in Egypt issued the following decrees which came into effect fully from 16th March 2016; introducing significant changes to the import clearance procedure. In particular, factories, manufacturers or trademark owners of regulated products must now register with Egypt’s General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) in order to continue to export to Egypt. Registration can be done in one of two ways: either by factory or brand registration.
